ABOUT THE EVENT / KUHUSU MATEMBEZI

Run For Sight Marathon is a charitable non-profit marathon organized by Lions Club International - District 411C Tanzania. The marathon is a unique event, which combines the passion of running with charitable giving. We aim to raise public awareness on eye care, all proceedings will contribute to eye camps that will be hosted in the near future.

The funds raised through this marathon will be used to organize free eye camps and surgeries. The surgeries will include cataracts, glaucoma, and other minor eye surgeries. The eye camps will also look out for other potential sight-related conditions, such as age-related Macular Degeneration and Diabetic Retinopathy. Through these camps and surgeries, Lions Club International - District 411C Tanzania hopes to reduce the number of people with vision impairment and blindness in Tanzania as well as raise awareness.

Lions Club International - District 411C Tanzania are aiming to make Tanzania a better and healthier nation.

By participating in the Run for Sight Marathon, you grant Lions International - District 411C and its authorised representatives the right to take and use photographs, audio recordings, and video footage of you before, during, and after the event. These images may be used for promotional and marketing purposes, including, but not limited to, the following:


  1. Promotional materials, such as flyers, posters, and banners.
  2. The Run For Sight official website and social media channels.
  3. News releases, newsletters, and other publications.
  4. Fundraising efforts and sponsorship materials.
  5. Educational or awareness initiatives related to the marathon event.


By registering for and participating in the marathon, you acknowledge and agree that you have no financial or personal interest in the materials produced and released by the  Lions International. You understand that these materials may be used without further notification, and you release the  Lions International - District 411C, its officers, employees, agents, and volunteers from any liability or claims associated with the use of these materials.

If you do not wish to grant these rights, please notify the  Lions International - District 411C in writing prior to the event or at the time of registration.

Please be aware that by participating in the event, you are granting permission for your likeness to be used in these ways.
